Bounds and constraints

James Lovelock’s book ‘The Revenge of Gaia’ is widely considered to be one of the most important books ever written on the environment. In it he explains how the planet has self-regulated itself for millions of years, and it does this by operating within a certain set of bounds and constraints.
For the last few thousand years however, humans have been having ever greater impact on the planet - and we have not been operating within these bounds and constraints. The result is the climate crisis we’re currently starting to see the effects of.
All the work in the Rewilding series show cities intertwined with the natural world and remind us of the importance of allowing nature to be dominant within the ecosystem to protect and restore our environment.
